History

2001

The official company founding date is April 6, 2001, but its operations related to steering systems began a little earlier — in 1998.

At the turn of the century, a group of young initiative specialists turned their attention to the lack of a power steering in the design of the LADA NIVA car. At that time, the car has already become legendary and was sold in many parts of the world. Since 1977, more than 2.5 million vehicles of this model have been produced and more than 700 thousand cars have been exported to a large number of countries. The export geography of the Soviet SUV was impressive: Switzerland, Austria, France, Brazil, Canada, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. Moreover, local production of the LADA NIVA cars was established in Ecuador and Uruguay.

The German company Deutsche Lada Automobil GmbH was engaged not only in the import of Soviet cars, but also in their modernization, offering buyers their customized versions. A remarkable example is Niva California or Niva Kosak (the convertible version). They also began to install Hydraulic Power Steering for their customers, having adapted a similar steering gear from the BMW car. After learning of this important fact, our specialists, together with the company ZF Lenksysteme GmbH, developed a Recirculating Ball (RCB) with Integrated Hydraulic Power Steering. The components for this system were partially localized in Russia, but the most important units were supplied by the German company (screw and control valve assemblies, steering arm shaft and part of the assembly kit).

Our specialists, together with the company ZF Lenksysteme GmbH, developed a Recirculating Ball (RCB) with Integrated Hydraulic Power Steering

Rulevye Systemy Ltd. decided to establish machining of the body parts of the HPS, parts of the assembly kit, painting and complete assembly of the steering gear with testing on ZF testing equipment. The remaining parts of the HPS system (pump, pulleys, brackets, oil tank and hydraulic hoses) were localized or imported.

2002

Further development of the company was bolstered by the implementation of the project LADA NIVA – LADA 2123 (CHEVROLET NIVA)

In 2002, serial production of the model began at the joint venture «GM-AVTOVAZ» (the license for the model VAZ-2123 and the rights to the brand «Niva» were transferred to that joint venture). At that time, in order to choose the supplier of power steering, GM-AVTOVAZ specialists conducted comparative tests of various types of available steering systems. The best solution was the steering gear produced by our company. This marked the beginning of series supply of our products to GM-AVTOVAZ CJSC and AVTOVAZ Pilot Production (for integration in all Chevrolet Niva, VAZ-2120 (NADEZHDA) and VAZ-2131 cars).

2004

Cooperation with ZF continued within the framework of the LADA 2110/2170 project

At the time of its release and serial production, the design of the car did not include a power steering system.

While working on the 2110 model, VAZ concluded a license agreement with the company ZF to support development of two types of steering gear — a conventional rack-and-pinion design with a variable gear ratio and a version with a hydraulic power steering. In the same year, they launched production of rack-and-pinion HPS under the license of ZF Lenksysteme GmbH for VAZ-2110/2170 and the trilateral agreement executed by AVTOVAZ, ZFLS, and Rulevye Systemy Ltd.

Technical specialists of our company made the necessary preparation for the production of this steering gear in the shortest possible time, which contributed to successful launch of the production of the steering gear with central track rods and built-in HPS and arrangement of supply of steering components on a regular basis.

2005

The expansion of production and the new challenges prompted the company to expand its production site

In 2005, the reconstruction was completed, and a new administrative and production complex of Rulevye Systemy Ltd. with an area of more than 9,500 m2 was put into operation. The modern approach to factory management made it possible to place facilities for machining and assembly, a research laboratory and all engineering and administrative services of the company on one site.

2006

Introduction of Recirculating Ball (RCB) with Integrated HPS steering gear on all LADA 4x4 cars at AVTOVAZ

All cars of the NIVA family began to be equipped with a hydraulic power steering system manufactured by our company

2008

Extensive work has been carried out to modernize the rack-and-pinion steering gear with HPS for LADA PRIORA

Together with ZFLS, hydraulic power steering prototypes were developed and manufactured for Renault LOGAN

2010

An agreement with the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation on granting the status of a facility for industrial assembly of vehicle components and units was concluded

This agreement made it possible to further localize the production of hydraulic power steering systems and expand production capacities to meet the needs of AVTOVAZ JSC.

2013

The company underwent TUV HESSEN certification, which confirmed its compliance with ISO TS 16949 requirements and QSB requirements of GM AVTOVAZ CJSC

One of the significant stages in the development of our company’s Quality Management System was the phased implementation of the requirements of international standard ISO/TS 16949 in the period from 2008-2012. This is a generally accepted standard in the global automotive industry. We also ensured compliance with special requirements of RENAULT and GM in the field of quality management./p>

During that period, we successfully re-engineered all QMS processes and introduced 8D problem-solving methodology. The elements of QS 9000 (FMEA, APQP, MSA, PPAP), the Lean Production Policy, 5S methodology have been implemented in production.

The result of this tremendous effort by our specialists was successful certification of the company's QMS for compliance with ISO/TS 16949 and QSB requirements of GM AVTOVAZ.

2014

The company underwent TUV HESSEN certification, which confirmed its compliance with ISO TS 16949 requirements and QSB requirements of GM AVTOVAZ CJSC

In 2014, as part of the ASES audit, the compliance of the QMS with the requirements of the RENAULT-AVTOVAZ alliance was confirmed. The overall score was B=63.

The high level of development of the Quality and Factory Management Systems of the company, corresponding to the world standard, was further established in the course of the Supplier Health Check and ASES (Alliance Supplier Evaluation Standard) audit conducted by the specialists of the RENAULT-NISSAN-AVTOVAZ Alliance. As a result of this assessment, the company received rank B (Optimal level, 63 points).

2017

AVTOVAZ JSC nominates us for the development and production of steering gear for LADA XRAY-CROSS

As part of the implementation of this project, the specialists of Rulevye Systemy Ltd. independently developed the design and technology for a rack-and-pinion steering gear with tie-rods. To set up the production of these steering gear, we commissioned special facilities for machining of the housing and manufacturing of the rack (in cooperation with AVTOVAZ PJSC) with subsequent assembly of steering gear on the assembly line. The production of remaining components of the steering gear (the housing casting, tie-rods, and hardware) was localized at contracted Russian companies specializing in similar products. The achieved level of localization was 95%.
